Ultra is committed to ensuring that all employees are supported and encouraged to develop and progress within Ultra.
We provide appropriate facilities and assistance to enable approved learning opportunities to take place aimed at enhancing employee competence, knowledge, skills and/or qualifications for their current and potential future roles.
We identify learning and development needs at recruitment and throughout employment by way of continuous 1:1’s, annual performance development reviews (PDR) and via our Organisation and Succession Development process.
We’re committed to ensuring that relevant learning and development is provided for skills in specific job areas, where work procedures have changed, where new standards are introduced and where the use of new products and equipment is required.
We provide a range of opportunities aimed at:
- Enhancing skills for your current position. These include internal and external courses providing technical/functional training, e.g. on the use of software packages, and specialist training relating to the skills that employees require for their job
- Management and supervision. These include internal and external courses/programmes on leadership and management development and Team Lead/Supervisory skills. Some of these programmes will be Group led, and some will be UECSS specific
- Health and Safety and Environmental training (SHE). These are often mandatory depending on your role and can include on or off the job specific courses, and management/supervisory training (e.g.First Aider, Fire Marshall, Risk Assessment, Waste Management, Spill Response)
- Professional or academic qualifications. Where appropriate the business supports employees who wish to pursue continuous professional development and gain further qualification
