UECSS takes the lead promoting STEM in schools.
08 AUGUST 2019
Recent UK government reports have identified that the UK is facing a shortage of young people entering the STEM sector.
UECSS has partnered with local schools, colleges and academies to run a series of interactive events promoting STEM and engineering. Students are actively encouraged to develop new ideas and find solutions for different challenges. This years’ Egg Target Challenge at The Highcrest Academy resulted in some interesting and successful solutions and UECSS plans to run this event again in the coming school year.
A Women in Engineering event is also held at the Autodesk Advanced Manufacturing Facility and is designed to showcase women in engineering role models in a relaxed environment.
As part of its initiative to encourage STEM in the UK UECSS STEM Ambassadors plan and run events over the course of the year.
