Ultra Electronics Command & Sonar Systems (Ultra) has recently supported Labuan Shipbuilding and Engineering (LSE) in successfully conducting the repair, defect rectification and limited overhaul of Bunga Mas Lima, a Command Support Ship in the Royal Malaysian Navy.

The contract, completed on schedule on 4 April 2019, required significant collaboration between LSE and Ultra to ensure the needs of the Navy were met. Throughout the tight 120-day effort carried out at LSE’s shipyard in Labuan, LSE provided yard services including hull, underwater and platform architecture work while Ultra had responsibility for purchasing, fitting and acceptance of all electronic equipment and providing technical support to yard services activities as required.

Mike Williams, Managing Director of Ultra Electronics Command & Sonar Systems commented: “We highly value our ongoing relationship with LSE. Following the successful completion of this contract, we look forward to further collaboration with them in support of the Royal Malaysian Navy fleet.”
